State Senator and Union City Mayor Brian Stack today endorsed Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise for re-election next year.
State Senator and North Bergen Mayor Nicholas Sacco joined Stack and DeGise at a press conference announcing the endorsement at a newly renovated Athletic Field inside Washington County Park in Union City. Sacco previously endorsed DeGise.
Mayor Stack praised the county executive for “putting people ahead of politics” and working cooperatively with him for the best interests of Hudson County residents. “This impressive new recreation complex is a shining example of how government officials can work together to improve our citizens’ quality of life,” he said. “Hundreds of families and children benefit from using this beautiful park. I am very proud to be here today to endorse Tom DeGise and I pledge him the total support of our Union City First organization.”
County Executive DeGise thanked Mayor Stack for his strong support. “There is no greater advocate for our people than Brian Stack and I am very grateful for his endorsement today,” he said. “To have the support of both of these outstanding mayors is a very significant moment for our campaign and for Hudson County’s future.”
Mayor Sacco said that he is proud to join Mayor Stack in supporting DeGise. “When people see the three of us standing here together today, it speaks volumes about the growing sense of unity and purpose among Hudson County Democratic Party leaders,” he said. “We are moving closer to our goal of a united Hudson County and we are growing stronger every day as a result.”
